Youth Sports Signup Deadlines, Month by Month
The season you are waiting for closed its signups a long time ago. Here is what to act on now — and, plainly, the 28 organizations that publish no timing at all.
The hard part of youth sport here is not finding a club. It is that you sign up in a completely different season from the one your child plays in. Tackle football closes on 1 July for a season that does not start until the autumn. Club volleyball holds tryouts in the autumn for a season running January to May. A parent who waits until he sees other kids playing is already a season behind, every time.
Here is how that goes wrong, written as what it is — something we saw on one day, not a standing claim about anyone's website. Reading West Fargo Hockey's own registration form on August 28, 2026, its key dates listed travel teams closing 15 August and the youngest levels staying open until 4 October, while the button on the front page said simply register. Nothing there was broken or out of date. But a parent arriving that week wanting a travel place would have clicked a live button on a current site and been two weeks too late. That is the whole reason this page prints each organization's own wording, and the day we read it.
Nobody publishes this in one place, because every source is one club describing itself. Below is every deadline we could read on an organization's own website, cut by the month you have to do something rather than by sport. 7 of the 35 organizations in our directory publish timing at all. The wording is theirs, printed as they give it, and it is recurring timing rather than this year's dates: we do not publish a date we did not read, and we do not quietly convert "closes around 1 July" into a specific one.
This month, 4 organizations have something a parent has to act on. They are first below; the rest of the year follows in the order it arrives.

No organization we could read publishes anything at all for January, February, April, May, June, November or December. That is a gap in what gets published, not a promise that nothing happens in those months.
Two things to do before any of this
Both have made parents miss a deadline they had actually remembered.
Get the USA Hockey number first
All three metro hockey associations require a current USA Hockey membership number before you can finish their own registration, and last season's number expires before this season starts. It is a separate signup on a separate site. Do it first, or the association form stops halfway.

In hockey, you register where your child goes to school
Fargo Youth Hockey states the NDAHA participation rule outright: a player registers with the association for the school district they attend. Fargo Public Schools means Fargo Youth Hockey; West Fargo Public Schools means West Fargo Hockey. Wanting a different class of play is not a reason to switch, and a violation can carry a season-long suspension. Waivers go to the NDAHA, not to the club.

These organizations run real programs, and every link below was opened by hand. None of them publishes registration timing anywhere we could find on its own site, so this page does not invent one. Call or email them — and if you learn when a signup opens, tell us and it goes on the list.
Register the week signups open, not the week they close. Every organization on this page fills divisions and moves to a waitlist before the posted deadline, and the youngest age groups go first.
